Questions people actually have

  • What does this company actually earn?
  • Who is on the board, and who left?
  • Is it real, or struck off?
  • Has it pledged its assets to a bank?
  • Who owns it?
  • Is it filing on time?

3.7 million companies and LLPs in the free lookup. Straight from the ministry’s own public register.

The problem

The answer is public. Getting to it is the problem.

Every Indian company files its accounts, its directors and its borrowings with the registrar, and anyone may read them. In practice the answer sits behind eight separate portal journeys, a CAPTCHA every few files, an encoded archive, and a seven-day window before paid access lapses.

3.7 million

Companies and LLPs

All of them are public on the register. The free lookup helps you distinguish the company you mean from others with similar names.

8×

Journeys per company

One per document category, each with its own CAPTCHA. Miss one and your picture of the company has a hole in it you cannot see.

7 months

Before the accounts are even due

A 31 March year end is not on the register until about 30 October, and late filers take longer. Anyone selling a “live” revenue figure for a private Indian company is reading the same delayed filing.

Where the deadlines come from

What you can find out

Six questions, and the filing that answers each

The promise is only worth something if every answer has a document behind it. These are the questions, and where the answer comes from.

What does this company actually earn?

Revenue and profit come from the audited financial statements attached to the annual filing. You get the statement as filed, not a number someone retyped.

With filings Source: Annual Returns and Balance Sheet eForms

Who actually runs it?

Current directors, and every appointment and resignation with its date, so you can see who was on the board when a decision was taken.

With filings Source: Change in Directors/Designated Partner

Is this company even real, and still alive?

Legal name, CIN, incorporation date and current status. A company showing Strike Off no longer legally exists, whatever its website says.

Free lookup Source: MCA company master data

Has it pledged its assets to a lender?

Charges created, modified and satisfied. An unreleased charge from years ago is the expensive surprise in a property or asset deal.

With filings Source: Charge Documents

Who owns it, and how is the capital split?

Shareholding and capital structure from the annual return, plus what the company was incorporated with.

With filings Source: Annual Returns; Incorporation Documents

Is it filing on time, or quietly in default?

The presence or absence of annual filings, by year. A three-year gap is a finding in itself, and we tell you it is a gap rather than an error.

How it works

Free to look, one payment to go deeper

You choose the companies and pay once. We handle the government registry payment, then collect, check and organise the official documents for you.

  1. Search the register, free

Find any of 3.7 million companies and LLPs by name or CIN, and see immediately whether it is real, active or struck off.

  2. Ask for the filings you need

Add up to 50 companies to one order. You confirm the list before anything is paid for.

  3. Pay once to start the order

The price is ₹79 for an LLP or ₹149 for a company, with nothing more to pay. Entiva handles the registry payment for you.

  4. Read the primary record

Receive all eight document categories, organised by company and category. Every PDF is checked, and the delivery includes a record of every file.

In your own assistant

Ask ChatGPT or Claude about the companies you hold

Connect Entiva to the assistant you already use and ask in your own words. Each answer names the filing it relies on, so you can open it and check.

Your companies only
It reads the companies you bought or were given access to, and nothing else.
Read-only
It cannot order, pay, share or change anything in your account.
No extra charge from Entiva
Your assistant does the answering on the plan you already have.

Why trust the answer

An answer you cannot check is a rumour

Every figure comes with the filing behind it, every gap is named, and an uncertain payment never triggers another charge.

Answers you can cite

Every figure traces to a filing you also receive. Nothing is inferred, rounded from a third-party database, or presented without the document behind it.

Pay once for the order

A confirmed payment covers the whole order. Retrieval retries do not create another charge.

Every file verified

Every PDF is opened and checked before delivery. You also receive a record of every file, so you can show later exactly what the set contained.

A gap is reported as a gap

If a company has not filed, we say so. An empty category is a finding, and we never let a failed retrieval masquerade as one.

Questions

Frequently asked

Why use Entiva instead of downloading documents directly from MCA?

You can get the same public filings directly from MCA. Entiva saves you the repeated category searches, CAPTCHAs, timed download window and work of unpacking and checking the files. It collects all eight document categories and gives you the original filings in one organised set. You can ask questions about those filings, with each answer pointing to its source document. Entiva can add only the newer filings when you check again during MCA's seven-day access window, and alert you when MCA publishes something new. If you only need basic company details, use Entiva's free lookup or MCA directly.

Do I get the attachments hidden inside MCA’s PDFs?

Yes. Many MCA eForm PDFs carry their attachments inside the file rather than as separate downloads: a shareholder list inside an annual return, financial statements inside an AOC-4. Some PDF viewers, Mac Preview among them, show only the form pages, so the attachment is easy to miss, and a copy downloaded from MCA keeps it inside the form unless MCA also lists it separately. Entiva saves embedded attachments as their own files beside the form it came from, named after that form, and keeps the original PDF intact. Attachments are included when you search a company’s filings or ask questions about them.

Can Entiva tell me when a company files something new?

Yes. Add the company to your alerts and Entiva checks MCA once a day. When MCA publishes a new filing, it appears in your Entiva notifications and in a daily email. Alerts are free; opening the new documents still requires an order.

Can I use ChatGPT or Claude with the filings I hold?

Yes. Add Entiva to your own ChatGPT or Claude, sign in with your Entiva account, and ask about the companies you hold. It can name the filing behind each answer. It is read-only, sees only your companies, and costs nothing extra from Entiva. Setup steps are at entiva.in/chatgpt-and-claude/.

Where do the answers come from?

India’s companies register. The free lookup uses the company master data the ministry itself publishes openly. The filings come from the MCA’s own View Public Documents service, which sells a company’s public documents to anyone who pays the fee. Nothing is scraped from another company’s database.
