District register

Companies registered in every Indian district

33,35,498 companies and LLPs across 296 districts, counted from the Ministry's own register. How many are still active, and how much of each district's older intake has gone.

How to read these

Two percentages, and only one of them compares

Every district page carries the share of its entities still active and the share of its pre-2015 intake struck off. Only the second compares between districts. The first rises wherever incorporations are recent, because a company registered this year has had no opportunity to fail.

Across the districts covered here, 47.7% of everything registered before 2015 now carries the status Strike Off. That is the line each district is read against.

Where these numbers come from

Counted from the Ministry's own company register, as on 6 August 2026. A district gets a page when at least 1,000 entities name it; below that the count is too thin to say anything with. Districts are as filed with the registrar, so spellings vary and a filer who wrote a locality where a district was asked for is counted under what they wrote.

These counts cover more of the register than the free company lookup searches. The lookup is the place to check one named company; this is the place to see what a district holds.
